Sun and Agro in Aadijk, Almelo

By order of Climate Fund allowed ProfiNRG to build this solar park including Agri-PV. Klimaatfonds Nederland is building, managing and (co)financing Zonnepark Aadijk II in Almelo. A solar park of about 45 MWp of installed capacity, where about 70,000 solar panels will be installed on an area of about 40 hectares. A further 13 hectares of nature strips will also be created around the solar park. The park is expected to be connected to the electricity grid this autumn. The special feature of this project is that all sustainable electricity will be purchased for the next 10 years at a fixed price by a Dutch company specialising in sustainable charging infrastructure. This is arranged in a so-called C-PPA (Corporate Power Purchase Agreement). Based on this innovative direct purchase structure, several projects in the Netherlands have recently been financed and it will become increasingly common in the future for a renewable generation capacity to supply green power directly to the end customer.

Solar farm Aadijk II will generate around 43,000 MWh of renewable electricity annually, roughly equivalent to the electricity consumption of 17,000 households. This is comparable to the consumption of more than half of Almelo's residents.

The Agri-PV section consists of 2952 solar panels of 660Wp. This accounts for a capacity of 1,948 MWp.
