ProfiNRG feliciteert Alliander Westpoort met de nominatie voor ‘Beste gebouw van het jaar’. Wij hadden de eer om bij te dragen aan het verduurzamen en toekomstbestendig maken van dit pand door onder andere het parkeerdek te voorzien van een solarsysteem.

Flexibel, duurzaam en efficiënt
Alliander gaf opdracht om een locatie te realiseren die duurzaam, flexibel, schaalbaar en modulair is. Zo is enerzijds de impact van het gebouw op het milieu beperkt en is de locatie anderzijds aan te passen aan mogelijk veranderende behoeften in de toekomst.
De gevels hebben een industriële uitstraling en het gebouw voor kantoor en opleidingen bestaat voor een groot deel uit een houten constructie. Bouwen met hout is het antwoord op bouwen met duurzame materialen, een zo laag mogelijke CO₂-uitstoot en bovendien neemt hout CO₂ op.
Door middel van duurzame opwek van energie, onder andere met zonnepanelen en een warmte-koude opslag (WKO), is de locatie energieneutraal. In het ontwerp zijn ook keuzes gemaakt om de kosten zo laag mogelijk te houden. Zo is het geveloppervlak beperkt en is bij de bouw zo veel mogelijk materiaal hergebruikt.
