Good news for entrepreneurs, schools and social institutions in Molenlanden, Vijfheerenlanden, Gorinchem, Hardinxveld-Giessendam and West Betuwe: thanks to smart cooperation and innovative solutions from Stedin and TenneT, there will be as much as 100 megawatts of additional space on the electricity grid in the coming years. Enough to connect a large proportion of the waiting list customers!

Where the power grid in many regions is squeaking and creaking, we look, in close cooperation with municipalities, at where something is possible. Through smarter use of existing infrastructure and a temporary extension of Arkel station, businesses and social facilities can get back on track. This is not only a regional milestone, but an inspiring example for the whole of the Netherlands: together we are accelerating the energy transition!

💡 “We are constantly looking at what can be done on the full power grid. With these measures, we can eliminate much of the waiting list and get the region growing and sustainable again,” said regional director Maarten Bijl From Stedin.

Together, we keep the grid in balance. So use electrical appliances off-peak as much as possible and help make room for everyone to become more sustainable sooner.
