New under the sun

A challenging project

The transition from fossil fuels to renewable energy brings a new challenge, namely grid imbalance. How do we ensure that surplus power can be used in the event of shortages? At Zonnepark Zuidbroek we are taking the first steps to solve this problem.

In the summer of 2023, we started installing an energy storage system of no less than 20MWh This is the equivalent of about 270 standard Model 3 Teslas. The system stores the surplus electricity so that it can be used to meet changing demand. A fine project, which we are proud of.
