The offsetting scheme for solar panels would be in place from Jan. 1 January 2023 will be phased out. But in a letter to new climate minister Rob Jetten, officials at the Ministry of Economic Affairs revealed that this is not feasible.

In all likelihood, the phasing out of the energy-saving scheme will be delayed by one year. This will have hefty financial implications. The postponement is important because of the preparation time needed by grid operators, energy suppliers and Agency Telecom. It further indicated that a final decision on this should be made as soon as possible by the new cabinet.
